This band has to be the most original El Paso band I have heard since, yes I will say it and I don't care how wrong I am, At the drive in (shit I did say it!!).

This is a local band (El Paso, TX) and they are a trio, who describe themselves as sounding like early Radiohead, and Weezer. We saw their opening act, which I'll talk about shortly, set up for their show as Get Him, Eat Him wrote down their set list in a napkin they got from the bar, as they said and I quote, "Lets play the best show we have ever played tonight." Of coarse sarcasm filled the air as those words were said.Ĭlosure For Emily was the opening band. I was at least happy for him as he didn't seem to bummed about us being their only audience tonight. He said they were about half way done and had played with some pretty cool bands so far. I asked him how the tour was going and he was pretty happy with how it was going. I asked Joe what time they were on and he didn't really know. Serj and I just talked about our future plans of opening a place of our own for shows. The bassist Joe practiced his guitar at the merchandise table. The keyboardist Raf was sitting quietly at the bar reading his book while, Matt, Jason, and Jeff listened to the hot bartenders story about kicking out bands at some past show. It turns out they had been here for about two hours (We arrived about 10 minutes before 10, you do the math). What the hell is wrong with El Paso? I thought to myself as I ordered my drink. Damn this sucks we are the only two fans here. So we sat at the bar and well I noticed that the people sitting at the bar were no other than Get Him Eat Him. When Serj and I entered the T-Lounge we saw their was actually some people sitting at the bar, I was relieved I didn't want to be one of two audience members for this show. I was wondering if any one would show to this concert on a Thursday, since that last Thursday show I went to had a record 7 attendees. Ok enough with the silly stuff and here's the story of Get Him, Eat Him in El Paso. Was this weather that is so rare be a sign of what this band will be like? A possible bad show? These questions filled me brain as Sergio and I drove to the T-lounge.

Get Him, Eat Him played this night, this night so full of mystery and suspense. It was a dark and stormy night that August night, lighting in the air and the clouds threatened with rain in the evening hours of the 11th.
